I hardly know where to begin in sharing with you "my story!" Windstorm Ministries began in my heart in the mid 1980s. I spent a lot of time on the road as a speaker in various settings. One morning I was in the sanctuary of the church I was pastoring at the time reading from the book of Acts. As I read the first chapter I began to pray for a name for my evangelistic ministry. At the end of chapter one, I actually stopped and scanned that chapter for a name. I found none. I began reading chapter two. I was reading from the original Living Bible. Chapter 2; verse 2 says this:
"...suddenly there was a sound like the roaring of a mighty windstorm in the skies above them and it filled the house where they were meeting."
Those words LEAPED off the page and there was a stir in my heart! I read verse two over and over and each time "...a mighty windstorm…" seemed to express what I desired my ministry to be! That was IT! I wanted the Holy Spirit to not just flow through MY life but flow FROM my life and accomplish great things. I wanted my ministry to be accomplished by God’s power, not my own. I desired a mighty windstorm in my life and in the lives of all those my life would touch. That day Windstorm Ministries was born!
Since that morning I have not fulfilled all that God has for me! I still yearn and long for His mighty windstorm to continue to transform me, change me, grow me and make me ALL He wants me to be. I am on my way! I am not what I want to be, still; but I am not what I was for Christ has changed me! I am on the journey that He has chosen for me and I am excited about the days ahead! So it is with my ministry. For many years Windstorm Ministries has not been active. If someone had asked me to define my ministry I would not have been able to do so. My vision for it and for what exactly God had planned for me was unclear. But that has changed…
Windstorm Ministries was born out of an evangelistic ministry I was blessed to be a part of. My ministry has returned to its ‘roots!’ I am once again making myself available to share God’s Word when the doors open. I dream of being part of the sweeping revival that is about to spread over the whole world! I commit myself to sharing the Gospel with my world. Gayle and I believe that Christ is coming soon. The Christian Church has that “fact” as part of its doctrine, but I fear we are not living as though we believe His coming is imminent. A large part of what I preach and teach is about Jesus’ coming and the incredible hope we have in these last days to be part of the greatest revival the world has ever known.
The most important person in my life, outside of Christ, is my wife Gayle. She has always believed in me and encouraged me in ways no other person has. God’s greatest blessing to me outside my relationship with Him has been manifested in my soul mate.
